Vigilia is the managed IT and cyber security partner for nurseries, primary and secondary schools. One team for your helpdesk, your devices, your network, your filtering and monitoring, and the evidence inspectors ask for.
Most schools juggle a part-time technician, a filtering provider, an MIS reseller and whoever installed the Wi-Fi. Vigilia replaces that with a single accountable partner, so nothing falls between the gaps on a Monday morning.
Generic IT providers treat a school like a small office. It is not. You have safeguarding duties, a census deadline, 900 shared devices, a hall that becomes an exam room, and a budget signed off by governors. Everything we do is shaped around that reality.
Nursery to secondary, single sites and multi-academy trusts. We speak MIS, KCSIE, census and INSET without a translation layer.
Every engineer who sets foot on site is DBS checked, safeguarding-trained and briefed on your visitor policy before they arrive.
Upgrades, migrations and cabling land in half-terms and holidays. Classrooms stay teaching; the disruptive work happens when the site is quiet.
A termly one-page report on tickets, risk, spend and compliance, written for a resources committee, not for a network engineer.
We came from offensive security, not from box-shifting. Your network is designed by people who spend their week breaking into networks.
Fixed per-pupil or per-device pricing, no surprise call-out fees, and a three-year refresh plan you can take to your trust.
Filtering and monitoring is now a named safeguarding duty, and the DfE cyber security standards are what your trust will be measured against. We map your school against both, fix the gaps, and keep the evidence current so nobody is rebuilding a folder the night before an inspection.
If you are working towards Cyber Essentials, we run the gap assessment, do the remediation and take you through certification, then keep you certified year after year.
Most schools stay with a provider they have outgrown because moving sounds painful. Our transition runs over a half-term, in parallel with your current setup, with a rollback point at every stage.
Half-term work
A free half-day on site. We audit devices, network, filtering, backups and licensing, then show you exactly what you are paying for today.
Half a day, no charge
A written proposal with fixed costs, a risk-ranked fix list and a three-year refresh plan you can take to governors or your trust board.
Fixed costs, in writing
Documentation, monitoring and helpdesk go live first. Credentials, backups and filtering move next; nothing switches without a rollback.
One half-term, in parallel
Unlimited helpdesk, scheduled visits and 24/7 monitoring, with a termly service review against the plan you signed.
Every term, against the plan
Only if you want us to. Plenty of schools keep a well-loved technician and use Vigilia for the things one person cannot cover alone, 24/7 monitoring, security, escalation, holiday projects and cover during absence. Others hand us the whole function. Both work.
Priority one incidents, a room, a year group or a whole-school system down, are picked up immediately during helpdesk hours, with remote hands on it while an engineer is dispatched if it needs a physical fix. Every ticket carries an agreed SLA, and we report against those SLAs every term rather than asking you to take our word for it.
Yes. Every engineer who attends site holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and has completed safeguarding awareness training. We provide certificates for your single central record before the first visit, and our staff sign in and follow your visitor policy like any other adult on site.
Yes. We are not tied to a single vendor. If your current filtering, MIS or cloud platform is working and meets the standards, we manage it as-is. If it does not, we will tell you plainly what the gap is and what changing would cost, you decide.
A fixed monthly fee, based on pupil numbers and supported devices, covering the helpdesk, monitoring, security tooling and scheduled visits. Project work, cabling, refreshes, migrations, is quoted separately and up front. No call-out fees, no per-ticket charges.
Yes. We support trusts with shared standards across sites, one identity platform, one security baseline, one reporting format for the board, while letting each school keep the local arrangements that actually work for them.
A free, no-obligation review of your devices, network, filtering, backups and licensing, with a written summary you keep, whether or not you work with us.
We have opened a lot of cupboards that look like this one.
