Managed IT for businesses that run on the clock
We learned this trade in schools, where one failed switch stops two hundred lessons at once and nobody can be told to wait until Tuesday. The same discipline runs your business: a fixed monthly cost, engineers who know your estate by name, and work that happens before you notice it was needed.
Three tiers, sized by headcount
Each tier contains the one below it, so growing out of one is a change of plan rather than a change of supplier. The bands are a starting point, not a gate: if you have forty staff and the risk profile of four hundred, we will say so and quote accordingly.
Essentials
For a business with no IT person, where everyone lives in Microsoft 365 on a laptop and the nearest thing to a server is a box under the stairs.
- Response
- Next business hour
- Cover
- Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm
- On site
- By arrangement
- Review
- Quarterly
Everything that should already be switched on, switched on properly, and then watched. Most small businesses we take over are paying for licences nobody uses and running a backup nobody has ever restored. We fix both in the first fortnight.
- Unlimited remote helpdesk for every member of staff, by phone, email or portal
- Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace set up, hardened and kept patched
- Multi-factor authentication on every account, including the shared mailboxes
- Managed EDR antivirus on laptops, desktops and any server you still run
- Daily off-site backup of email, files and cloud storage, with restores tested
- Windows, macOS and third-party patching on a published schedule
- Starter and leaver accounts opened and closed the day you tell us
- Licence and renewal tracking, so you stop paying for seats that left in March
- A quarterly call with a written summary of what broke, what changed and what is next
Managed
For a business with departments, a server room, and somebody internally who has quietly become the IT person without ever having asked to be.
- Response
- One hour for priority one
- Cover
- 24/7 monitoring
- On site
- Scheduled engineer days
- Review
- Monthly
Somewhere around thirty staff an outage stops being an irritation and becomes a number you could write down. Monitoring goes round the clock, the network becomes ours to manage rather than ours to advise on, and you get people who know your estate without looking it up first.
Everything in Essentials, plus
- A named account manager and a named lead engineer, not a queue position
- 24/7 monitoring of servers, switches, firewalls and connectivity
- Firewall, Wi-Fi and switching managed, including firmware and rule reviews
- Scheduled on-site engineer days, weekly or monthly, set in the contract
- Immutable backups with restore tests run and dated every quarter
- Starter, mover and leaver workflows automated through your identity platform
- Phishing simulation and short staff sessions, run on a repeating cycle
- Mobile device management for company phones, tablets and laptops
- A three-year refresh and budget plan, costed, and revisited every month
Strategic
For a business with several sites, a board that asks about cyber risk by name, and customers or insurers who want evidence rather than reassurance.
- Response
- 15 minutes for priority one
- Cover
- 24/7/365, on call
- On site
- Dedicated engineer allocation
- Review
- Monthly, plus board papers
At this size you are not buying support, you are buying somebody to hold the risk register with you. We sit in the planning meetings, we write the paper your board reads, and we put our own hours against the fixes we recommend.
Everything in Managed, plus
- Virtual IT director days, scheduled, with board and audit committee papers written
- Dedicated engineers who work on your estate and learn its history
- Managed detection and response, with log retention and a named escalation path
- An annual penetration testing programme, with retests after remediation
- Change control, written runbooks and a recovery plan tested on a date you pick
- Multi-site networking, site-to-site VPN or SD-WAN, reported on per site
- Supplier and licence management across your whole technology spend
- Office moves, acquisitions and system migrations run as fixed-price projects
- A quarterly risk review with named owners, dates and a closed-loop action list
True at every size
The tier changes what we do. It does not change how we work, or what you are entitled to ask for.
One number
What you get regardless of tier
- A fixed monthly fee, with no hourly billing for things it was our job to prevent
- Enhanced DBS checked engineers, because we work in schools and did not want two standards
- Your documentation, licences and credentials handed over on request, in a readable form
- Every ticket, visit and change logged, and the log is yours to read whenever you want
- One number to call, 020 3411 2545, and a WhatsApp line on 07933 179044
- A free half-day review before you commit to anything, including the price
Why a school IT firm is good at this
Schools are an unforgiving place to learn this work. The budget is fixed a year ahead, the building is full of people who cannot stop and wait, and the paperwork is read by an inspector rather than filed.
That shaped how we run everything. Costs are quoted whole rather than by the hour, because a school cannot approve a surprise invoice in November. Changes happen in the gaps rather than in the working day, because there is no such thing as a quiet Tuesday in a secondary school. Evidence is kept current rather than assembled in a panic, because somebody will ask to see it.
A business buying from us inherits all of that. The difference is only in what we watch and who reads the reports.
Not sure which tier you are?
Most people guess wrong, in both directions. The free review settles it: half a day on site, then a written summary of what you have, what it costs you today, and which tier actually fits.
